Meet Our Team

 

Eric Mattinson

Investment Adviser Representative/Corporate Chaplain, eric@semmax.com


Eric is a graduate of Piedmont Baptist College with a bachelor degree in Biblical Studies, and a graduate of Liberty University with a Masters in Management and Leadership.  He is a licensed insurance agent and holds his series 65. Prior to joining Semmax, Eric’s professional career included banking and management.

In addition, Eric serves as Corporate Chaplain, providing spiritual leadership and guidance to staff, families, and others as needed. His faith, leadership and general compassion for people exude themselves in all he does.

Eric resides in Kernersville NC, and enjoys spending time with his four children, playing tennis and golf, and serving in his local church Youth group.

 

Joe Berry

Joe Berry joined the Semmax team after an 18 year career in Management with a Fortune 500 company. Throughout his career, Joe has been involved in real estate, sales, insurance, training and management but has always had a real desire to be involved with others and help to make a difference for them. Joe is a licensed insurance agent in both property/casualty and life and also holds his series 65. Joe recently completed the Series 3 license as a Commodity Trading Advisor and is also currently enrolled in the American College of Financial Services studying for the RICP- Retirement Income Certified Professional designation and the ChFC- Chartered Financial Consultant designation.

Joe is a native of Florida but considers North Carolina ‘home’. Joe and his wife of over 15 years, Stacey, live in Lexington with their son Charlie and daughter Lauren. When not working Joe loves most of all to spend quality time with his family and to be outdoors in nature whether hiking, biking or traveling from the mountains to the beach.

 

Jonathan Short

Jonathan Short joined the Semmax team after having worked in banking and, most recently, the insurance industry as both an Insurance Agent and a Claims Adjuster. Over the course of the past 8 years of his career, Jonathan has enjoyed being able to work with many different people to make a positive difference for them and help them achieve their financial goals. Jonathan is a licensed Life Insurance agent and studying for his series 65.

Jonathan lives in Winston Salem and in his free time likes to spend time with his wife, Anna, as well as play piano and guitar, visit Revolutionary and Civil War sites, and serve in his local church.

 

Nathan Phillips

Nathan joined Semmax near the close of 2015 as an Assistant Processor. With experience as an administrative assistant, he brings a valuable skill set to the processing team and is well versed in all areas of the office. He enjoys interacting with clients and is currently working toward his Bachelors of Arts in Business Administration. In his free time, Nathan enjoys playing music or spending time outside playing sports, hiking, cycling, swimming or just about any other outdoor activity. He also values spending quality time with his family and friends.

 

Molly Warren

Molly joined the Semmax team as an Operations Specialist where she helps clients with questions, processes applications, and assists with account changes and transfers. She has experience in the financial, insurance, and banking world. As a graduate of University of Iowa with a degree in Journalism, she enjoys reading and writing in her free time. When away from work, Molly enjoys visiting her two sons in Myrtle Beach and Washington, DC.

Matt joined the Semmax team in January of 2017, and serves in our office in a range of capacities. He is a graduate of UNC Greensboro with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology.  He is currently studying for his Series 65, and will utilize his continued learning to better service our clients and their needs.

In his free time, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife Kristen, hiking and camping with their two dogs, running, playing guitar and working on vintage motorcycles.

 

Robin Tyner

Robin Tyner has been with Semmax Financial since its inception, serving first as Jay’s wife, then as a Consultant. Robin graduated from Tennessee Temple. She brings 8 years of experience in the Sales and Marketing industries. Robin plays a key role in the day-to-day operations of Semmax and its three companies. Robin is involved in all aspects of the company’s operation and fully understands what is necessary to ensure the promotion of Semmax to each client and the community. She has a heart for people and truly cares about their best interest. She takes a proactive role in developing and strengthening relationships with those we serve.

Robin dedicated 18 years to homeschooling her three children, after which she began assisting with her husband’s dream of building a company that has the best interest in mind of those close to retirement; a company they could trust. While she has suffered with lymes disease for 14 years, God has blessed her with the opportunity to serve others.

 

Larisa Gorelov

Larisa came to us from Charlotte with legal experience as a Litigation Paralegal in criminal, personal injury, and property damage. She is originally from Ukraine and speaks fluent Russian and Ukrainian. Larisa has a bright personality and a genuine heart. Over her time with us, she has enjoyed creating lasting relationships with clients and has been an essential addition to our firm.  You will meet her in both our Winston Salem and Greensboro office locations.

 

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, fellowshipping with her local church, and coming up with tasty new food recipes.

 

Jesse Jacobs

In spring of 2017, Jesse joined Semmax as a Client Care Specialist. He serves as your first point of contact when you call into the office for any questions or to schedule a visit. He comes from an office and sales background from our local furniture industry in High Point. He loves connecting with those around him and believes that trust is built by strong service and an open ear. You will meet him in both our Winston Salem and Greensboro office locations.

In his free time, Jesse enjoys historical studies, going hiking with his wife, gardening, and most of all, spending time with his friends and family.

 

Kathleen Eskridge

Kathleen joined the Semmax team in 2015 soon after graduating from Salem College, where she earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Marketing. Working mostly behind the scenes in our office, you will most likely meet her at one of our social events or educational workshops. She plays an integral role in coordinating events for Semmax, and enjoys getting to know both new and familiar faces when she has the opportunity to.

In her free time, Kathleen enjoys spending time with her family, playing with her two dogs,  and being outdoors. She is excited to work with Semmax, and hopes to use her creativity to create memorable experiences for clients.

 

Mary Beth Scebold

Mary Beth joined our team in April of 2016 with 29 years of business and non-profit experience.  She has held leadership roles, at differing levels, in every organization for which she has worked.  She is a licensed Health and Life Insurance Agent.  Mary Beth is excited about her new role where she executes the day-to-day action items in the greater marketing plan along with assisting in planning client events and workshops.  She lives in Mocksville and when she’s not working, she loves spending time with her children, reading or working in her vegetable garden.

 

Susie Romanowski, EA

Susie’s career in accounting and income tax preparation began in the 90’s when she worked as an Office Manager, Accountant, & Bookkeeper. Since then she has been dedicated to gaining experience and educating herself by obtaining an AAS degree in accounting and an IRS authorized tax preparer certificate. Susie even went so far as to become certified as an Enrolled Agent (EA), and is now recognized by the IRS as a tax expert. To maintain her status, Susie spends much of her time in continuing education classes to keep up with new tax laws and changes. She enjoys meeting new people and making a difference by helping others. Each year Susie volunteers through AARP as a tax advisor in their Senior Income Tax group.
