Eric Mattinson

Investment Adviser Representative/Corporate Chaplain, eric@semmax.com


Eric is a graduate of Piedmont Baptist College with a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies and a graduate of Liberty University with a Master’s in Management and Leadership.  He is a licensed insurance agent and has passed the Series 65 securities exam. Prior to joining Semmax, Eric’s professional career included banking and management.

In addition, Eric serves as Corporate Chaplain, providing spiritual leadership and guidance to staff, families, and others as needed. His faith, leadership, and general compassion for people exude themselves in all he does.

Eric resides in Kernersville, North Carolina, and enjoys spending time with his four children, playing tennis and golf, and serving in his local church youth group.

 

Joe Berry

Joe Berry joined the Semmax team after an 18-year career in management with a Fortune 500 company. Throughout his career, Joe has been involved in real estate, sales, insurance, training and management but has always had a real desire to be involved with others and help to make a difference for them. Joe is a licensed insurance agent in both property/casualty and life and has passed the Series 65 securities exam. Joe recently completed the Series 3 license as a Commodity Trading Advisor and is also currently enrolled in the American College of Financial Services studying for the RICP- Retirement Income Certified Professional designation and the ChFC- Chartered Financial Consultant designation.

Joe is a native of Florida but considers North Carolina home. Joe and his wife of over 15 years, Stacey, live in Winston-Salem with their son, Charlie, and daughter, Lauren. When not working, Joe loves most of all to spend quality time with his family and to be outdoors in nature whether hiking, biking or traveling from the mountains to the beach.

Travis Lethco

Travis recently joined Semmax Financial Group from BB&T Scott & Stringfellow, where he has provided investment advice for many years. He is a licensed insurance agent and has passed the Series 65 securities exam. Travis studied Business Administration and Economics at Greensboro College, where he was a member of the golf team. In 2004, he garnered PING Collegiate All-American honors. He currently holds the course record at Meadowlands Golf Club (63) which was later tied by Masters Champion Bubba Watson. He and his wife, Jessica, have been married since 2006 and have two children, Brayden and Hannah. They are active members of Triad Baptist Church. In his spare time, Travis enjoys coaching his son’s baseball team, playing golf and fishing.

 

 

Matt Landon

Matt joined the Semmax team as an Adviser in January 2017. He is a licensed insurance agent and has passed the Series 65 securities exam. He is a graduate of UNC Greensboro with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. Matt is currently enrolled in NC State’s Online CFP Certification Education Program and is studying for the CFP Certified Financial Planner designation.

Matt and his wife, Kristen, have been married since 2015. They are active in their church and have two rescue dogs. He is also an endurance athlete who enjoys competing in half marathons and triathlons. In his free time, Matt enjoys working on vintage Honda motorcycles and reading.

Robin Tyner

Robin Tyner has been with Semmax Financial since its inception, serving first as Jay’s wife, then as a Consultant. Robin graduated from Tennessee Temple. She brings eight years of experience in the Sales and Marketing industries. Robin plays a key role in the day-to-day operations of Semmax and its three companies. Robin is involved in all aspects of the company’s operation and fully understands what is necessary to ensure the promotion of Semmax to each client and the community. She has a heart for people and truly cares about their best interest. She takes a proactive role in developing and strengthening relationships with those we serve.

Robin dedicated 18 years to homeschooling her three children, after which she began assisting with her husband’s dream of building a company that has the best interest in mind of those close to retirement; a company they could trust. While she has suffered with Lyme disease for 14 years, God has blessed her with the opportunity to serve others.

 

Jonathan Short

Jonathan Short joined the Semmax team after having worked in banking and, most recently, the insurance industry as both an Insurance Agent and a Claims Adjuster. Over the course of the past eight years of his career, Jonathan has enjoyed being able to work with many different people to make a positive difference for them and help them achieve their financial goals. Jonathan is a licensed Life Insurance agent and has passed the Series 65 securities exam. Jonathan lives in Winston-Salem and in his free time likes to spend time with his wife, Anna, as well as play piano and guitar, visit Revolutionary and Civil War sites, and serve in his local church.

 

Nathan Phillips

Nathan joined Semmax near the close of 2015 in our operations department. With experience as an administrative assistant, he brings a valuable skill set to the processing team and is well versed in all areas of the office. He enjoys interacting with clients and is currently working toward his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. In his free time, Nathan enjoys playing music or spending time outside playing sports, hiking, cycling, swimming or just about any other outdoor activity. He also values spending quality time with his family and friends.

 

Katlyn Hamm

Katlyn joined our team during summer 2017. She is originally from the Triad and has recently returned to the area after graduating from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in Finance. She is currently studying for the Series 65 securities exam and will utilize her continued learning to better service our clients and their needs.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She also has a passion for animals and has a dog and a cat that keep her busy. She likes to spend her weekends outdoors, and her two favorite hobbies are traveling and crafting.

 

 

 

Drew Siegrist

Drew joined the Semmax team in February of 2019. He is a licensed insurance agent and is studying for the Series 65 securities exam. Prior to joining Semmax, Drew’s professional career included business development and marketing. Currently, he supports our team of Advisers in financial planning and case preparation.

Drew and his wife, Candace, originally met each other working together at one of the first jobs they both ever held, Chick-fil-A. Years later, they started a family and welcomed their daughter, Adaline, into the world in January of 2018. When not enjoying time with his family, Drew has a deep-rooted passion for road cycling. One of his most memorable achievements from childhood was winning his age group in bicycle racing and the title of junior state champion. No longer competing, he greatly enjoys riding with members of the local cycling community and supporting others who want to get started in the sport.

Tamela Ingram

Tamela joined the Semmax team in January of 2019.  She is a graduate of Bob Jones University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance.  She has 16 years of administrative experience in the mortgage insurance industry, along with bookkeeping, tax preparation, and sales experience.

 

Tamela and her family enjoy serving at their home church, Freedom Baptist in Rural Hall.  In her free time Tamela enjoys baking, sewing, and being outdoors with her two daughters.  She is a classic car enthusiast and owner and often acts as her husband’s assistant during his restoration projects.

 

 

John Tyner

Before officially joining the team in late 2017, John participated in the early growth of Semmax many years ago, serving the office in differing capacities such as marketing and media coordination. He is presently serving as an Operations Specialist, supporting our team of advisors while studying for the Series 65 securities exam.

An interesting fact about John is that he once studied classical guitar under Joseph Pecoraro, a concert guitarist who teaches at the School of the Arts. Because of this training, he had the pleasure of performing for various company events over the years. Above all, John loves spending time with his family and friends.  He also has a passion for motorcycles and outdoor activities.

 

Mary Jane Muchukot

Mary Jane joined the Semmax team in early 2018.  Originally from Michigan, she moved here with her husband and two children in 2006 to escape the long, cold winters.  A graduate of The University of Michigan-Dearborn with an Economics degree, she has worked in the insurance industry for more than 20 years.  Mary Jane enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and baking.

 

 

Kathleen Williamson

Kathleen joined the Semmax team in 2015 soon after graduating from Salem College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration degree with a concentration in Marketing. Working mostly behind the scenes in our office, you will most likely meet her at one of our social events or educational workshops. She plays an integral role in coordinating events for Semmax and enjoys getting to know both new and familiar faces when she has the opportunity. In her free time, Kathleen enjoys spending time with her husband and their three dogs and exploring new places around town.

 

Emily Swanson

Emily has been a part of the Semmax team since November 2018. She graduated from Belmont Abbey College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. She recently moved to the Triad area from the coast of North Carolina to be closer to her family. She enjoys meeting clients through the coordinating and planning of events, as well as working behind the scenes to help Semmax grow. When not at work, Emily enjoys spending time with her husband and her young son.

 

 

 

 

Susie Romanowski, EA

IRS Authorized Tax Professional

Susie’s career in accounting and income tax preparation began in the ’90s when she worked as an Office Manager, Accountant, and Bookkeeper. Since then, she has been dedicated to gaining experience and educating herself by obtaining an AAS degree in accounting and an IRS authorized tax preparer certificate. Susie even went so far as to become certified as an Enrolled Agent (EA) and is now recognized by the IRS as a tax expert. To maintain her status, Susie spends much of her time in continuing education classes to keep up with new tax laws and changes. She enjoys meeting new people and making a difference by helping others. Each year Susie volunteers through AARP as a tax advisor in their Senior Income Tax group.
